Time to Fly

Long long ago, I knew
A kid. Small and plump,
But like a bird he flew.

Have you heard
The story of ass, who
Tied wings and jumped, to fly?
O gal, Have you?

That kid believed in it,
That he could fly.
Tied wings,
Climbed the roof, to try.

He lives somewhere
In the town I come from.
Hand in hand, he still walks
Besides me, when I am there.

He must be waiting
In the town I come from.
Hand in hand, we still walk
We keep mum, he never talks.

He must be waiting
In the town I come from.....

Going to see the kid
I was, yesterday.
I am going home.

"That kid believed in it"

Belief or believing in oneself can do wonders!

ya it can...But believing that you can fly by tying wings is foolish...
But thats what this kid was like.. :D
....he didnt believe others, he did what he dreamt of...:))

mm... fascinating. sometimes it is our dreams which are the only things that keep us going...

I kinda felt the ending was kinda rushed... but I dunno

abhimir: yes the boy did actually achieve it. At first he jumped from the roof and broke his leg...
but then he learnt that its not the wing that he should fly with..but through his dreams, and mind...

You write really well!!
I read your previous posts too..your writing style is mesmerizing ,it en captures the reader into a different world...I especially liked the manner in which you dwell on your way of perceiving things and situations..and narrate it in such an interesting manner..
About this poem ...the end could have been better .I liked the theme...
I just believe dreams are fun ..just a way of consoling ourselves..
Rather aspiration works wonders...
Keep writing ..All the best..
